TIMES ARE CHANGING - PART ONE -

To paraphrase a martial arts legend, it is increasingly urgent to modernise one's self-defence system, given that society has changed radically and predators act differently to how they did 50 years ago.

It's logical to think that what worked back then is perhaps no longer useful, as it is now outdated and therefore predictable. Whereas the predator used to be just a rough individual, he could now be a distinguished person with a good job and perhaps even a fair amount of martial arts knowledge. The problem arises when we fail to recognise this and consequently assume a false sense of security based on the belief that questioning and changing what has been passed down for years, or even centuries, is sacrilege. The ego also plays a fundamental role.

In military terms, it would be like going to war in 2021 with equipment dating back to the Second World War.

Nowadays, it's vital to update your system so that it's simple and effective in everyday life. This means knowing how the urban predator behaves and moves, how it probes the terrain through simple questions (interviews), and so on — in short, its attack ritual. Not knowing or not wanting to know these valuable notions could lead to terrible outcomes.

it's a matter of choices: some have chosen to be self-sufficient, while others have chosen to develop a 360° defensive strategy that's quick to learn and put into practice in any condition. WHAT HAVE YOU CHOSEN?
